this is a carrot cake covered with a vanilla flavored rolled fondant ... carrot cakes do go well with cream cheese but i skipped the cream cheese this time to make it less sweet ... the fondant itself is already sweet so i'd rather keep it less sweet to make it more edible ...
the fondant is homemade ... i did it in 20 mins yesterday morning ... but no time at all to color it first so the purse will have to be white hehehe ...
the gold designs are simply handpainted ... i made a gold "paint" by mixing gold edible glitters with a bit of almond extract ... i don't really like almond extracts but since i have 1 bottle ready, it's quite handy for making gold "paints" and as a glue to stick gum paste decors into my cakes ...
